PAUL TENORIO is a senior writer for The Athletic who has covered American and global soccer since 2007. His work has also appeared in The Washington Post, Orlando Sentinel, FourFourTwo, and ESPN. A proud Costa Rican American, Paul grew up in Mount Vernon, Virginia, and graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He lives with his wife and two kids in Chicago.
